This century old estately home in North Carolina is one with incredible bones. When we began this project, the entire house had more primary dark colors that made it feel dated and small. We wanted to revive the space with more interior architectural detail and brighter hues to stay true to the timelessness of the home. We landed on soft blues to carry throughout and added picture frame molding. This really elevated each space giving it a more sophisticated feel. The selection of wallpaper and fabrics were selected with the era of the home in mind. The floral wallpaper in the foyer made the checkerboard flooring really pop and come to life. We also chose to use silk draperies in the main areas of the house to honor the home’s elegance.
